"OUR LORD COMETH"
In The Trenches
What difference does it make?
Bro. Daniel Ray
For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. I Pet. 3:12.
I wonder how many of us as Christians miss out because our prayer life is lacking. Just think of it; when was the last time you talked to your best friend, your spouse, or maybe one of your kids? Lets face it, many of us get caught up in the day to day of work, school, or whatever, and the first thing you know we forget to pray; until we need something from God.
But prayer should be more than just our going to God with a list of wants. Prayer is our opportunity to come to God and offer
our praise, and our thanks for what he has already done for us. It’s also a chance for us to lift up others who need God to move on their behalf. Confess your faults one to another, and PRAY ONE FOR ANOTHER, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Jas. 5:16. Just think of it! If ten people would make the commitment to pray for every member of our church everyday; what if twenty people made that commitment? What if everyone reading this newsletter stopped right now and prayed for the needs of everyone else who may read this newsletter? Won’t you do it? Right now, just pray and ask God to bless those who read this newsletter; ask God to meet all their needs. I’m praying for you right now as I write this! I don’t need to know your name, or what your need is. The Bible says God already knows what we have need of before we even ask! Mt. 6:8. WHAT A MIGHTY GOD WE SERVE! The God of the universe! The God who created all things! The God who keeps us by his power! I know from personal experience that God answers prayer, I’ve seen him do it too many times to believe otherwise. So why don’t we take him at his word? Why don’t we exercise our privilege as a child of God; to come unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Eph. 3:20. I believe God is raising up an army of prayer warriors in our church. People who will dare to trust him to do what he says he will do; people who will stand in the gap. Will you join their ranks?
